It is crucial to reimagine the value of aging citizens, particularly within New York’s creative community, where aging care options are in high demand. While the Aging in Place movement was a step forward, its focus on suburban, car-dependent models limits broader thinking. The Pegasus Project seeks to offer an alternative to institutionalized elder care by fostering multi-generational communities. It envisions a rural, multi-unit community featuring a spa and event space, supported by neighborhood memberships and rentals. This initiative serves as both a model for elder living and a platform for those dedicated to creating affordable, engaging environments for aging populations.
